Sometimes we carry the weight of betrayal long after the moment has passed.
Jacob expected Esau to remember what had happened between them, but when they reunited, Esau ran to him, embraced him, and wept with him.
“Then Esau ran to meet him and embraced him…”
Genesis 33:4
Maybe someone close to you hurt you. A friend. A sibling. Someone you trusted.
You don’t have to pretend it didn’t hurt. But you also don’t have to carry the pain forever.
Forgiveness doesn’t mean what happened was okay. Sometimes, it simply means choosing freedom over resentment and allowing God to heal what you cannot change.
You deserve to live with a heart that is free.
Let God heal you. Let go of the grudge. Choose peace.
